I remember this day 17 years ago all too well, as I’m sure most Americans do. I was 10 and had spent the morning taking the fifth-grade standardized test. You weren’t even allowed to leave your seat to sharpen a pencil during those tests, yet for some reason, kid after kid kept getting pulled out of the classroom quietly by the teacher.
In last period, while taking apart old computers in Mr. Clevenger’s science class, our principal came on the monitor, sounding like he was about to cry, as he explained what had happened.
Thinking of those who lost their lives that day 17 years ago and of all who continue to work to overcome malice. I write this to remember and as a moment of silence for that day, not that I could ever forget. Always know that good conquers evil.
